ARC Patty Melt
Ingredients
- For the onions:
- 2 T Butter, divided
- 1 ea Large sweet onion, peeled & julienned
- ¼ t Kosher salt
- ⅛ t Fresh-ground black pepper
- 1 t Worcestershire sauce
- 1 t. Hot sauce
- For the patties:
- 1½ lbs 80/20 Ground beef
- ½ tsp Kosher salt
- ¼ tsp Fresh-ground black pepper
- 1 T Butter
- 8 ea Sourdough or rye bread, sliced
- 8 ea Adams Reserve Cheddar, Sliced
Instructions
- For the Onions:
In a sauté pan over medium-high heat, combine the butter, onions, water, salt and pepper and let cook until all the water is evaporated and the onions begin to brown. Stir often and continue to brown the onions until they are a dark golden. Stir in the Worcestershire and hot sauces and keep warm. - For the Patties:
Divide the ground beef into four equal patties, flatten and round to about ½” thick. Season them with the salt & pepper and sauté them in a skillet over high heat until they are just below your desired doneness. Build the patty melts with the onions, cheddar, bread slices. Griddle them like a grilled cheese with the butter over medium heat until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted. Serve immediately.
